About The “Golf Classic”

Following the success of the 2008 and 2009 EDCAR Charity “Golf Classic” Tournament at Cameron Park Country Club, planning is already underway for this year’s event.

We are pleased to announce that all net proceeds from this event will again benefit EDCAR’s in-house “Backpacks for Kids” program.

This year’s tournament will be held on Monday, September 13th.

About “Backpacks for Kids”

A Foster Child Assistance Program

Foster care children often relocate, toting their possessions in plastic garbage bags because they cannot afford to purchase suitcases of their own for their few precious few belongings, often without toothbrush or change of clothing. The program eases the trauma of relocation.

“Suitcases for Kids” is a National Association of REALTOR® project that collects and distributes new and suitcases, duffel bags and backpacks for these special children. EDCAR manages its own independent operation under the banner of “Backpacks for Kids” and buys material and accepts donated material to put together age and gender specific backpacks for children in El Dorado County. We are always looking for donated material, so if you would like to help or donate items, please contact Jason DeBord at (916) 813-1797 or Kathie DeBord at (916) 716-8886.

Golf Tournament 2010 – Details

This year’s charity golf tournament, organized by the El Dorado County Association of REALTORS®, will be held at the Cameron Park Country Club on Monday, September 13th. Players arrive at 10:00 am.

Real estate agents and affiliates are expected and encouraged to participate. However, this is a public event and anyone who likes to play golf and benefit a great cause by having fun can join in!

We have reserved the entire Country Club for this “scramble”-style event with a field of approximately 120 players. We did sell out the past two years, and expect to sell out this year, so we recommend buying tickets and sponsorship opportunities in advance.

Tickets will include:

• 18 Holes of Tournament Golf (Four Players Per Team, 30 Teams)
• Golf Carts (one shared per every two players)
• Tee Bag with Goodies
• Brunch (served in advance of play)
• Country Club Dinner (following play)
• Prizes Awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Teams
• Contests for “Closest to the Pin”, “Longest Drive”, “Putting”, etc.
• Raffle Tickets for Great Prizes as well as Live Auction Items
• “Hole in One” Contests for Luxury Items

Brunch and Dinner is also open for registration to spouses and other non-players who would like to enjoy the day and festivities.
